Am I suitable for this programme?
Adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or BMI 27 or above with obesity-related health conditions, are typically eligible. Suitability is confirmed at consultation following a full medical history review.
Who is this not suitable for?
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, planning pregnancy, history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2, severe gastrointestinal conditions, severe pancreatic disease, and type 1 diabetes without specialist input.
What is the time commitment?
Initial consultation is 45 to 60 minutes. Monthly self-administered injections once trained, with quarterly face-to-face reviews of around 20 to 30 minutes.
What about side effects?
Common side effects include nausea, reflux and altered bowel habit, usually mild and improving over the first few weeks. We provide medication for side-effect management (small fee applies) and you have direct provider contact for any concerns.
How much weight can I expect to lose?
Typical results are 10 to 20 percent of starting body weight over 6 to 16 months alongside lifestyle change. Individual response varies.
