FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Have a question we haven't covered? Ask Pam directly via the form on the right or get in touch.
Who is this not suitable for?
Pregnancy and breastfeeding require individual assessment, many prescription skincare ingredients (particularly retinoids) are contraindicated. Active skin infection, history of severe allergy to any of the prescribed ingredients, and certain medical conditions affecting wound healing may also affect suitability. All of this is screened at consultation.
What is included in the monthly programme?
An initial consultation and skin assessment, your first personalised prescription, monthly adjustments to your formula, the tailored Klira formulation delivered to your door, and a monthly follow-up appointment with Dr Pam or Nurse Gemma.
Why is six months recommended?
Cellular changes from prescription-strength skincare typically build over 8 to 12 weeks. Six months gives the formulation enough time to be tuned to your skin's response and to deliver visible texture, tone and clarity changes. Shorter programmes are possible, discussed at consultation.
How is this different from the Medik8 home skincare we recommend?
Medik8 is a clinical-grade over-the-counter range we recommend for daily use. The Skin Prescription Programme uses prescription-only ingredients at higher strengths than over-the-counter products are allowed to contain, formulated specifically for your skin's condition. The two can sit alongside each other depending on your goals.
Can I see Nurse Gemma instead of Dr Pam?
Yes. Both Dr Pam Rhead and Nurse Gemma Jones (registered nurse prescriber) deliver this programme to the same clinical standards.
