Will people be able to tell I’ve had lip fillers?
Most patients (and me as an injector) want a natural result — and when placed carefully, lip fillers simply enhance your lips rather than change them dramatically. Friends may notice you look fresher, but they shouldn’t immediately know why unless you tell them.
Will I get “duck lips”?
No. “Duck lips” are the result of overfilling or poor placement. A medically trained injector uses precise techniques and appropriate volumes to create balanced, natural proportions that suit your face.
Will my lips look the way they do on the day of treatment?
To a degree. Lips are often swollen straight after treatment, which can make them look bigger or uneven. As the swelling settles, the volume can reduce by up to around 15%, revealing the true final result over the next 2 weeks.
What should I avoid after getting lip fillers?
For the first 24-48 hours, avoid intense exercise, heat (saunas/steam rooms), alcohol, and touching or massaging the lips unless advised. These can increase swelling or bruising. It’s also best to keep makeup away from the lips for the rest of the day.
Are lip fillers permanent?
No — lip fillers aren’t permanent, and they usually last between 6 and 18 months. They’re made from hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body, so the results gradually break down over time. If you ever decide you’d like to adjust or remove them sooner, they can be electively dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase.
